Terms and Conditions

All customers of and visitors to gyrotonicliny.com and the GYROTONIC® LINY studio are subject to the Terms and Conditions listed below. You acknowledge that you understand and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations when you browse or use our website, purchase our services/products, and enter our studio.     

Studio Policies

NEW CLIENTS:  

All new clients will be given an orientation to the studio and the GYROTONIC® equipment before their first session or class and then will be asked to sign a liability waiver.  Before a client will be allowed to participate in our GYROTONIC® exercise, GYROKINESIS® exercise and other programs he or she will be required to sign the Shine Studios LLC liability waiver and to fill out intake paperwork including a health and lifestyle questionnaire which provides us with important information so that we might best address a client's and goals safely and effectively. We ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes before your first scheduled session or class so that you have ample time to complete the paperwork. And, if you would like to review the documents prior to your first visit, please let us know and we will happily provide them to you.                                                                                                                                                                                        

We strongly recommend that you check with your doctor before beginning any new exercise program and further advise that you be cleared by a doctor to enroll specifically in a program of instruction in the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® method, including both GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® exercise, such as is offered at GYROTONIC® LINY, before you participate.  And, going forward, we ask that you keep the studio apprised of any changes to your health or lifestyle that might affect your work out. It is important for us to know if your condition changes in any way – for instance, if you become pregnant, start taking a medication that might affect your physical performance or you suffer even a minor fall – so that we might continue to best address your needs.                                                                                                                              

24-HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY:

 

In order to best serve ALL clients, GYROTONIC® LINY has a strict 24-hour cancellation policy for all private sessions, group classes and independent work out reservations.  If you cancel - or change - your private session appointment, class or independent workout reservation within the 24-hour window prior to your scheduled time, or if you are a no-show, you will be charged in full, as though you were in attendance.  Monthly Semi-Private Group Class members will be charged a $25 fee for each "late cancellation" - which is in addition to their regular monthly membership fees.  Occasional emergency situations will be considered for exception on a case-by-case basis.

Out of consideration for other clients who might be wait-listed for class or who might prefer a certain time, we ask that you please cancel any class / independent workout reservation or appointment you will not be able to make as soon as you are aware so that we might accommodate them. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.  We're all in this together!

PURCHASES, SIGN UP AND EXPIRATION PERIODS:

In order to make a reservation, you must prepay.  In order to do this, you can contact the studio to purchase a group class, private session or independent workout credit, or any of our discounted block series packages. 

Please be aware that all group class, private session or independent workout credits and discounted block series packages are non-transferable and may not be shared.  And, all sales are final, so please consider your purchases carefully before you make them.  We accept cash and all major credit cards.  If you pay by personal check, we will require that you have a current credit card number on file. The fee for a returned check is $30. 

You can reserve group classes for the upcoming week each Sunday after noon and make new private session appointments up to 45 days in advance.  For clients who would like regular consistent private or semi-private session times, we do offer "recurring appointments" that can be booked out further - please call the studio to set these up.  We ask that you always register in advance for our Semi-Private Group GYROTONIC® Classes and request that you do so online or by EMAILING info@gyrotonicliny.com at least two hours before class time.  Consider your class reservation confirmed when you have received an email back from us.  

Please be aware that group class, private session and independent workout credits and discounted block series packages do expire. Expiration periods on session and class packages vary according to your purchase and toll from the date of purchase. The various package expiration dates are clearly marked on our web site and are shown when you make online purchases. It is your responsibility to keep track of the expiration date on your sessions and classes. In exceptional circumstances packages may be extended. There will, however, be no refunds. Please also keep in mind that GYROTONIC® LINY prices and Terms and Conditions are subject to change.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:

In an effort to keep everyone safe during inclement weather, we will need to close the studio from time to time.  If Huntington Public Schools are closed and the roads are dangerous due to snow or ice then day sessions may be cancelled and, in any case, you will not be charged for cancelling. Evening classes will be held as scheduled unless we notify you otherwise via email.

SCHEDULE CHANGES / CLASS & SESSION CANCELLATIONS:

GYROTONIC® LINY makes every effort to keep a consistent class schedule with a variety of class offerings. Still, over time, the class schedule is subject to change according to demand, and on occasion, we may need to accommodate the schedule with substitute instructors or cancel a class or private session last-minute due to illness.  This is a rare occurrence but, unfortunately, sometimes unavoidable and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience.  Notifications of ALL class cancellations will be made as much in advance as possible, and our Class Schedule on the web site will reflect any changes that are anticipated.  The studio will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and Memorial Day.  In 2019 the studio will also be closed on November 18.  In general, please be aware that GYROTONIC® LINY is a teacher trainer studio - when an educational course is being conducted, it is possible the schedule will have to be adjusted.

GROUP CLASS LEVELS: 

We have designed our group class curriculum with both safety and enjoyment of participants in mind.  Being able to handle - set up, move around and get in and out of - the Gyrotonic Pulley Tower / Handle Unit and change the weight plates successfully and safely without assistance is required of all participants in group classes (whereas in private and semi-private duet sessions, the instructor sets up the machine for you, helps you in and out of the straps etc).  In seed-level classes, students are given some support along with detailed instructions and time to practice the proper use of the equipment, and we do have a short written manual in the studio that students may refer to as well. We do ask that you attend seed-level classes only until you feel completely comfortable setting up and getting in and out of the Gyrotonic Pulley Tower / Handle Unit straps etc on your own.  Most students get the hang of it in 5-10 classes, but it is possible that this might not be enough support for some students in which case we recommend signing up for some private sessions. Ultimately, it is up to you to assess your fitness level and ability to safely work out on the Gyrotonic Pulley Tower and Handle Unit in a group format - and you are responsible to choose the appropriate level class to attend.  However, in order to keep all students safe and maintain the flow of the class, the studio does reserve the right to refuse any student entry to a class that they believe that student is not ready for.  And, private one-on-one sessions are advised when you are new mover, just getting back into exercise and/or dealing with any injury or chronic physical imbalance or pain.

GIFT CERTIFICATES:

Gift certificates are available for purchase online, over the phone or in the studio.  Gift certificates are available in any dollar amount and also for specific services and packages.  A valid certificate must be presented at the time of service for proper credit. Gift certificates are non-refundable yet fully transferable until redeemed.   If the price of a service or package exceeds the amount of the recipient's gift certificate, the difference must be paid with a credit card or other accepted payment method.  GYROTONIC® LINY Terms and Conditions as herein stated apply to gift certificate redemptions - the applicable expiration period of whichever package or service the gift certificate is redeemed for applies and starts tolling once the recipient uses the first session or class in that package.

PRIVACY POLICY:

GYROTONIC® LINY has adopted the following privacy policy for the benefit of our clients. This policy explains our online information practices and the choices available to you for controlling how information about you is used. Please note that GYROTONIC® LINY is not responsible for the content or privacy policies of web sites to which it may link, or may be linked.  

Photo Usage: GYROTONIC® LINY has made every effort to obtain permission to use images of event participants in all imagery on the website. If a photo has been used without permission and you would prefer it not to be used, please email us at info@gyrotonicliny.com and we will be happy to remove your photo.  

Your Information: When you sign up for an account at GYROTONIC® LINY, or make a purchase online or in-person, you are asked to provide the following information: your first and last name, e-mail address, billing address, phone number, and credit card payment information. This information is required to complete the billing process and establish your account at GYROTONIC® LINY. In addition, if you indicate on the billing form that you are interested in receiving further information from GYROTONIC® LINY, we may occasionally send you direct mail via electronic mail and/or postal mail about GYROTONIC® LINY sales and special events, information about our programs and other services that we feel may be of interest to you.

No Release of Information to Third Parties: Personal information gathered on GYROTONIC® LINY's site will not be released to third parties. Upon request, GYROTONIC® LINY will (1) remove your personal information from our database; (2) correct personal information that is erroneous; (3) permit you to unsubscribe from further electronic mail or postal mail contact. You may edit your personal information yourself and unsubscribe from further contact through your MindBody Online account.

AROUND THE STUDIO:

All fitness equipment has its safety concerns, especially if used improperly. Unless you have been approved for independent work outs, please do not use equipment on your own. Use of the studio equipment is restricted to GYROTONIC® LINY instructional programs - for independent work outs, you are expected to follow the standard Gyrotonic curriculum as is taught at GYROTONIC® LINY and it is required that a studio instructor be present in the studio during your work out.

GYROTONIC® LINY will not be responsible for students who do not follow the class instructions as provided by their teacher. We ask that students disclose any medical or physical conditions, recent or persistent injuries, or other relevant information to their teacher before their session or class begins.  Prior to and during your session or class, it is your responsibility to inform the teacher of any pain or discomfort you may be experiencing - it is important that you do not hesitate to speak up if you are uncomfortable or if you need help with the equipment in any way.  

GYROTONIC® LINY  is not responsible for any property that is lost, stolen or damaged while in, on or about the premises, so we suggest leaving your valuables at home.

To keep a pleasant focused atmosphere, we ask that you refrain from loud conversations when you are in the studio.  Please silence cell phones and leave them tucked away during your session or class.

Please avoid wearing strong perfumes, lotions etc as the studio space is small and many people are sensitive to such smells.  

A document detailing safety guidelines is available by request in the studio - we ask that review and adhere to these rules.

We do suggest that if you plan to wear socks around the studio that you purchase those that are non-slip.
